South African Train Crash Kills 3

Two trains crashed together in South Africas administrative capital Pretoria. The crash left 300 people injured. The moving train crashed into a stationary train and left around 82 people seriously injured at the Mountain View station. Emergency officials  believe that there will be more people found as they continue to look through the wreckage. There have been a series of train accidents in South Africa. South Africa has the largest rail network ever.

Algeria's president Abdelaziz Bouteflika decided to resign after 20 years of being in presidency. He finally decided that he wanted to resign because of the many protests that broke out and also the Army chief demanded he be removed no matter the costs. The announcement that he was quitting left the citizens so happy that they took to the streets to celebrate (as shown in the picture). The reason that the riots started were because the president announced that he was going for a 5th term. The president has not been seen in public since he suffered a stroke in 2013. He is said to quit by April 28 even though many people want him out of office yesterday. Zimbabwe Women & Soldiers

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-47042101 Women that have been raped by security forces during the night raids to suppress recent protests have been urged to report their cases to police officers. Only one attack has been reported out of the many allegations that have been made. There is a lot of mistrust between the women and the authorities because they were also involved in the crackdown of the protests. The state-funded Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission accused soldiers of using "systematic torture" in the crackdown. One woman claims that the soldiers openly agreed that they both wanted to have sex.
